Who You Are in Christ: You Are Blessed with Every Spiritual Blessing

If you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, then you have every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

It may be hard for you to believe, but you have every spiritual blessing you need to live the Christian life. It says so in the Bible. In Ephesians 1:3 Paul writes,

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

You've Been Blessed

It’s official. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing. There is not one thing being held back from you. Every blessing is waiting and available for you to experience. These are the things made available to you through the Holy Spirit in your life.

Don’t make the mistake of making the word spiritual out as being something as opposed to the body. So many things are spiritualized so that they have no meaning for us on the earth. The spiritual blessings are those generated in your life by the Holy Spirit.

You may be thinking, well if that’s true, then why am I not experiencing them? I am a believer and there are areas of need in my life.

  • Think of things like the Spirit who comes to give you new life when you come to Christ. You are born again with a living hope.

  • Think about the fruit of the Spirit as He works the character of Christ into your life on a daily basis.

  • Think of the Gifts of the Spirit that manifest through you to others.

  • Think about the healing power of the Spirit when your body is healed or your broken heart mended.

  • Think about the constant blessing of the Spirit who is near to comfort, counsel, and guide.

The great thing about these spiritual blessings is that they are blessing. They are not earned. They are freely given by God. They come about as we learn to live in God’s ways. We actually grab hold and experience these blessing when we access them through faith.

The Price Has Been Paid

The blessing of salvation was always available in your life. Jesus paid the price before you were even born. Yet, you did not receive the benefits of this blessing until you believed in Christ. It was your faith that actuated the blessing and made it enter into your life.

That holds true for every blessing that the Lord has made available to you. They are all accessed through faith.

All these blessings are in the heavenly places in Christ. It reminds me of the way Jesus taught His disciples to pray. He told them to say,

‘Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
(Matthew 6:10)

You are to see the things available through Christ in the heavens and call them to the earth. God is the one who has blessed you with every spiritual blessing. It isn’t greedy to seek the things He has purchased through Christ.

I know that I want to experience everything that Jesus has made available for my life. I want every blessing He paid for on the cross. I want to experience the fullness of His salvation and not allow one blessing to sit on the shelf unused.

Seek All He Provides for You

If Jesus willfully provided something for you, you should gladly and freely receive it with thanksgiving. That is why it is so important to understand the promises of God and to seek them out with faith.

Faith apprehends the promises of God. Faith accepts what God says is true and seeks to experience it to the fullest. That is a huge reason behind the Who You Are in Christ series. I want you to start looking at who you are in Christ and live up the fullness of that truth.

If God says something about you, then it’s true. God is not telling you who you are so that you have a big head and think you’re awesome. He’s letting you know who you are so that you can walk out your destiny in Him with confidence. He wants you to rise up to your full potential in Him so you can be a blessing to those around you.

Every promise of God is based on the shed blood of Jesus. His blood bought us and provided us with every incredible blessing we could ask for. His blessings are freely given to those who are in Christ.

Draw near to the Lord. Pursue Him with an attitude of humility and thankfulness. Paul blessed the Father for all the blessings that were available in Christ and so can you. Thank God for the rich outpouring of His blessings through Jesus and that every one of them is available to you.
