A huge part of experiencing His life is to know what Jesus has done for you and who you are in Him. Over the next thirty days we are going to look at who the Bible says you are in Christ. Understanding these truths will change your life forever.

Today we are going to look at the wonderful truth that if you’ve trusted in Christ as Lord and Savior you’re a child of God.
You were born into this world a spiritual orphan.Through the sin of Adam, spiritual death entered into the word and every person ever born, including you, was born spiritually dead and separated from God.
God loves you so much. He wanted you to be a part of His family. He wanted you to be His son or daughter. Therefore He came up with an incredible plan that would allow Him to make you His own child.
God sent Jesus into this world to die on the cross and pay the penalty for your sins. God raised Him from the dead so that you might come alive spiritually, be reconciled with God, and enter into a new relationship with Him.
When you accepted Jesus,, everything changed. I mean everything.
The moment you accepted Christ, you became a son or a daughter of God. You are no longer a spiritual orphan. You have a Father in heaven that loves you.
Listen to some of the truths of the Bible that declare your new position in Christ. John 1:12-13 says:
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who are born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
It is Jesus Himself that gives you the right to become a child of God, but there is more. Romans 8:15-17 declares:
15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
You are adopted into the family of God. God has chosen you. You are not an accident. You are wanted and loved by God. You are His child.
God is a good Father. Maybe you find it difficult to relate to God as father because of all the hurts you received from your earthly father. You believe God is like your dad: absent, uncaring, critical, harsh, demanding, or hateful.
But God has proved His love for you by sending Jesus. He has done everything necessary for you to become part of His family. He’s there for you and cares for you.
You can call God “Abba! Father!.” That name is a name of endearment given from a child to his or her parent. You can call God Daddy, because He is your Daddy.
You have the Spirit of God within you testifying that you are a child of God. You are His. He is yours. All of the riches of God are yours as a member of His family.
Let’s end with one more verse, 1 John 3:1. “See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called the children of God; and such we are.”
You’re a child of God. You have a new Father that loves you. Close your eyes, open up your heart, and receive His love
