Believe it or not, it has been one year since I started Experiencing His Victory. This is my fifty-second post since August 29, 2016.
I sure have learned some things through the process of starting and keeping up this website. I will let you hear some of them below. I am very interested in hearing what you might have to say.
What do you think of the website? What do you think of the posts offered so far? Leave a comment below.
Have a Say
I am planning on sending out a survey to get input from you. I want to learn more about what is taking place in your life so I can provide more great content that will help you grow in your relationship with God.
For those of you who are receiving the posts through an RSS reader or through Itunes, I want to encourage you to be a part of making Experiencing His Victory better.
If you are not on our mailing list and want to take part in the process, go to experiencinghisvictory.com and press the “Yes, I Want More!” button. It will ask you for your name and email address. Do it quickly though, I‘ll be sending the survey out the 1st week of September.
If you've been blessed by Experiencing His Victory in the past year, I sure would like to know about it. Why not take a moment and send me an email telling me how the site has touched your life and helped you grow in God. You can email me at terry@experiencinghisvictory.com
It’s time to get in touch. Let me know what you think. It will mean so much to me.
Some Lessons Learned
It’s Tougher Than I Thought
That is an understatement. Man alive, is it a challenge to do things in a quality way.
I didn’t want the things I do on EHV to be slipshod and unprofessional. I want everything to be the best it can be. Not perfect, but the best it can be with the skill that I possess.
If you try to make everything perfect, you’ll never do anything. Perfection is wonderful and I would love to be perfect. Putting something out, even if it is not perfect, is better than doing nothing.
My biggest challenges were and are in the area of technology. I had to learn so many new skills to make this thing happen. I didn’t know how to make audio sound good, so I spent hours reading and listening to YouTube videos on how to do audio.
Now I record, edit, and mix an audio blog every week. I am proud of how great the audio blog sounds.
The next big technological hurdle to cross is video. Part of the plan for EHV is to have an extensive video library in the areas of healing and deliverance. I don’t know a thing about shooting videos, but I am learning.
I’ve even been getting over being shy about speaking to a camera, yeah, you heard me right, shy. Those of you who know me would never consider me to be shy, but video is a new adventure with me and I’m not so confident and satisfied with how I look on camera.
That is why I am shooting live video on YouTube every day for thirty days. By the time you read or hear this my thirty-day adventure will be over, but it has been good for me.
Now I have to learn to shoot video and do the whole process of video editing and production. In the near future, I will be putting videos out on a regular basis. They may not be totally professional and awesome at first, but I will learn.
I was listening to a podcast hosted by Shane Melaugh and Hanne Vervaeck. In it he made an observation that helped me get over my uneasiness about shooting and producing videos.
He made the obvious statement that the first videos you produce will be terrible. It is only after you shoot one hundred or so will they start to get better. Duh!
Why didn’t I think about that for myself? I have to start somewhere. How can I ever get better without practice. How can I practice without putting out videos? Get ready for here they come.Wahooooo!
It Takes Longer Than I Thought
Will I ever learn? I always think that I can do things much faster than I actually can. I think I am Superman and can do everything faster than a speeding bullet. Reality is often a different picture.
It takes hours to type the weekly blog post, record, edit, and compile the audio blog post. In the last year I have published 91,087 words (the equivalent of a 364-page book). As you can probably tell I love it and plan on writing at least fifty-two more next year.
Moving to Phase Two
It is time to move into phase two. I am going to be doing some things with video. One of the goals of this site is to ultimately have a massive library of video teaching on the areas of healing and deliverance.
Within the next few weeks, I am starting a video series called Who You Are in Christ. So far I have ninety different verses that focus on various things about who we are in Christ. I have already written the script for the first two and just have to shoot, edit, and release the videos. Hopefully, I will be able to complete one video a week.
I will see what result I get on the survey I will send out. It may help determine some of the material I will write this year.
I also want to start working on my first video course on self-deliverance. It will focus on the area of Overcoming Ungodly Beliefs. I see this as one of the top barriers that hinder a believer’s growth in Jesus.
I will let you know more about that later. Just wanted to give you a glimpse of the future.
Thanks for being a part of Experiencing His Victory. I look forward to providing you with truth from the word of God that will help you experience life as God intends it to be.
