No Limitations: Believing God Will Do What He Says

I had an interesting encounter with the Lord on Sunday. I thought I would share it with you in the hopes that it will encourage you and cause you to increase your faith in God to do what He says He will do.

During Sunday morning worship the Lord began to speak to me about some of the things He was speaking to my heart. I felt He wanted me to speak those things out prophetically to begin the release what God wants to take place in our region.

I went to the front of the church and declared the following. This is a summary, not word for word.

The Word of the Lord

God will raise up in the city of Grand Forks a place of healing and deliverance. It will include people from many congregations in the area

It will be a place where people can come and experience the healing power of Jesus Christ both physically and emotionally. There would be two areas that will be specialties: healing from addictions and healing Post Traumatic Distress Syndrome.

In addition to this a school of ministry will raise up that will focus on the practical moving forward in the things of God. It will go beyond book learning to practicing the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit.

This School will have four major focus areas:

  1. Healing and Deliverance

  2. Worship

  3. Intercession

  4. Prophetic

This ministry will start in Grand Forks and break out from there. It will touch all of the surrounding areas. Small towns will have healing and deliverance services moving in the power of the Holy Spirit.

What a wonderful word. It was well received.

As I went to the back of the church I started to think of all things that would have to take place in order for this to  come about. It was only for a moment, then I felt the Lord say to me, “No limitations.” That’s it, “No limitations.”

God was telling me to not put any limitations on Him or what He will do. If He calls us to do it, He will also reveal the exact details we need and the provision to do it. He will provide the people, the structure, the finances, the contacts, and the staff to run the various aspects of the school.

No limitations. Not limitations. No limitations.

My Tendency to Limit God

I believe God is awesome beyond belief, yet at times I find myself limiting what He can do. I hear Him speak a word and then somehow think that I must be the one to bring it about in my own strength.

Thus the call of God seems too big, too difficult. Who will be involved in the leadership of this school? Where will all the necessary equipment come from? Where will the money come from?

All of these questions focus on my ability to do the thing that God asked me to do rather than on the God who calls and supplies.

God knows who He wants to be connected to the school of ministry. God knows where all the equipment is. God knows where the finances will come from. He knows it all. All He is looking for is a person who will trust Him in every area of the process.

  • Trust Him to not only give the big-picture concept of the ministry but to provide step-by-step instructions on how to proceed.

  • Trust Him that He has this all worked out in His heart in advance. If He can create the universe, He can certainly speak to other people ahead of time and prepare them for involvement in the school

  • If He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, He can probably sell a few off and provide the funds we need to do what He has asked.

I can say this truthfully, that it is all bigger than what I can do. But God will make a way.

Sometimes God Moves Faster Than We Are Ready

When I sensed God wants to have a healing room in Grand Forks, I decided to call one of my friends who is involved in the healing rooms in Sioux Falls to see what he thought about it. Bjorn was enthusiastic and encouraged me to be involved in the same ministry because he felt it was good to be under a covering.

He thought it would be a good idea for me to get info from the group he is involved in and contacted the area rep for the ministry who contacted me and sent me information through the mail.

A short time later I received a call from a woman who lives about fifty miles from me asking of I started the healing rooms yet. She had been involved in another city and moved to another part of the state and wanted to be a part of the healing rooms we were starting.. Fast response.

I thought that was wonderful but was not ready to start anything in our city so quickly. But God is faithful and is moving us step by step toward opening healing rooms in the city of Grand Forks.

God’s Promise to Lead Us

The nice thing about being a follower of Jesus Christ is that He promises to lead us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. He knows what needs to be done and when.

On Wednesday evenings our church is studying healing and putting it into practice. I no longer want to teach something without putting it into practice.

What good is it to teach about Jesus being the healer and not praying for the sick? God gives us His word not just to fill our heads but to impact our hearts to the point of putting His word into practice.

We started listening to the Bethel Church Healing School from January 2018. After each session, we prayed for those who were sick. We started to see people healed. Here is a list of the things that people were healed from recently:

  • Knee pain from a person who had no cartilage in their knee from a surgery 40 years earlier.

  • Severe kidney stone pain that went from ten to one immediately and then to zero the next day.

  • Pain in the shoulder that was healed and remains so weeks after the event.

  • Severe shoulder pain with limited movement totally restored and pain-free. This was a word of knowledge that a person gave and we had to call the person on the phone to speak healing to them. Fun stuff.

  • A person with pain in their foot that they could hardly walk felt something happen in his foot as we prayed. He stood up stomping his foot and said. “Wow. That's weird. It’s kinda like a miracle.”

  • A young lady was dragging her leg behind her as she walked up for prayer. When asked what was wrong she said she damaged her  tendon in a track event. When prayed for she stomped her leg and said, “That’s weird. That’s weird. That’s weird.” When asked what was weird, she said, “It doesn't hurt.

This weekend I am traveling to a conference on Healing put on by the healing rooms in Bismarck, ND. Later in the month, I am attending the Kingdom Foundations conference put on by Randy Clark.

It is all coming together piece by piece.

A Challenge for You and Me

I am writing this to challenge you and me to put no limitations on the work that God wants to do through your life. That requires you taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

What I encourage you to do is to ask the Lord to show you every time that your thoughts naturally limit God. If we ask, He will show us.

I want you to respond every time you catch yourself thinking limiting thoughts by saying out loud, “No limitations.” Then speak the truth that God has shown you. Begin to believe and proclaim that God will do the thing that He put on your heart.

Of course, we must partner with Him through faith. Believing God is not just sitting around waiting for something to happen. It is finding out what the next step is and taking it. This will include a lot of hard work, but our trust is in the Lord to provide all we need to do what He has asked.

Okay here is my declaration:

There will be a healing room in Grand Forks and a school that will promote the ministry of healing. deliverance, intercession, worship, and the prophetic that will impact the region.

Are there any declaration you need to make. If so, leave them in the comments below.
